THE TRAINER Sonya Roosendaal, an instructor at Burn 60, a gym in Los Angeles, created these upper-body beautifiers to help you go sleeveless sans insecurity. "You'll create firmer underarms, an etched upper back and a lifted chest, highlighted by defined shoulders," Roosendaal explains.

TECHNIQUE TIP Keep shoulders relaxed throughout the moves for more effective toning and to prevent neck and back strain. Also, complete each movement in a slow, controlled manner—the band should never shoot back.
